SPRING: Vanessa Veselka's Craft Workshop: Voice + Brevity | Apr 3 - May 22

“It ain’t whatcha write, it’s the way atcha write it.” ~ Jack Kerouac

Voice is charisma on the page. And just as a charismatic person draws attention when they speak, so too does a strong narrator.  Within only a page or two, a narrator’s voice can grab a reader and take them on a ride.  In this class we will explore how voice works through excerpts of roughly 3000 words, about the size of flash fictions, with the idea that people can bring work in more than once. We will use prompts to generate new writing as well.  While this workshop is open to everyone (of course!) it might be most helpful for those exploring first-person points of view.  For fiction writers and nonfiction writers. | Maximum: 12 writers
