NEW FOR FALL: John Morrison's Goofball Poetry Workshop | Oct 24 - Nov 21

“[Theirs is] a passionate conviction that everything matters intensely, most especially the freedom of play” Tony Hoagland

What can Goofballs teach us? They create and take us into a world, a narrative, that makes absolute sense in a wacky-slant kind of way, all the while with a wild reverence for the imagination and a pure commitment to fun. And that word, fun, is one we often ignore in the pursuit of our poems. By reading deeply and following faithfully the poems of some of our sweetest Goofballs – think James Tate, Ross Gay, Heather Christle, Dean Young --  we’ll explore and build up our own generative joy as we draft and share new poems. Come ready to scribble and follow where surprise, odd logic, and wordplay take you. Open to poets of any and all experience who are willing to set aside the somber to recharge their poetic batteries.
