NEW: John Morrison's Poetry Workshop: Titles, First Lines and Last Lines | Sep 19 - Oct 24

“The trick is to end on the right word. It’s that simple. And that’s what makes it so hard.” — Peter Sears

A whole universe can be in a title, the entire strategy derived from the first line and crisply executed in the last. What can we bring to our poetry by a deep consideration of these principles? How to arrest the reader, propel a poem, and leave the reader in a new place? Through discussion and generative activities, we will explore what makes for successful, even great poems, study craft, tone, pace, counterpoint, and employ tricks to keep our writing practice lively. Count on leaving w/several poem-drafts, another set of poetic tools, and a fresh dose of inspiration. Open to poets of any and all experience. | Maximum: 12 writers
