NEW: Whitney Otto's First Chapters, or The Dark and Stormy Night Workshop | Apr 6 - May 11

It makes me so happy. To be at the beginning again, knowing almost nothing....when almost everything you thought you knew is wrong. ~ Tom Stoppard, Arcadia

How important is that first chapter of your novel or memoir?  The first paragraphs of your short story or essay?  Is there anything more exciting than those first words on the page, the invitation to the reader to come a long for the literary ride?  We will look at the elements that get the reader to turn the page, to read the next chapter and the next and the next. Everyone will turn in the first chapter of their novel or memoir (or a short story or essay) to be read and discussed. | Maximum 12 writers
