"Too old to carry arms and fight like the others / they graciously gave me the inferior role of chronicler / I record—I don’t know for whom—the history of the siege..." ~ Zbigniew Herbert
The election is over. So begins the epoch of us asking ourselves, “What can I do?” Since we’re writers, I guess the first answer is: “Write.” In that spirit, we’ve decided to offer a pop-up workshop one week after Inauguration Day with poet, essayist, and lawyer, Wendy Willis. We will spend the day reading those who have written in times of political turmoil and repression and who have kept the light on for the rest of us. Think Allende, Milosz, Szymborska. And we’ll leave plenty of time to think and write and share and commiserate. All genres and writing experience welcome.
